Electrical installations residential, main page
Electrical installations residential Firm, fair and honest prices
All electrical installations residential are priced with 3 factors in mind, namely;
#1 Material costs,
#2 Direct and indirect labour costs, and
#3 Mark-ups.
Material costs
Electrical materials are becoming more expensive than ever before (in particularly copper wire and cables) and careful procurement and trade discounts can help reduce the price by as much as 10-15% in some cases -- but in the end, price boils down to the labour, which brings me to the next point,
Labour
The real savings are in the experience, ability and attitude of the site team. A trained crew requires less supervision – this can have a substantial reduction in the overall price of the project. A good team not only get the jobs done quicker and with less hassle, but can save on material wastage and reduce the likelyhood of material theft.
Mark-ups
Generally mark-ups have two functions; to balance the risk and profit - essentially the higher the risk, the higher the profits. At Code Wired we don't mark up list prices. We rely on trade discounts.
We don't price a job on a "point" basis. We use "take-off" sheets to extract the materials and labour section by section, allowing us to monitor each phase of the job so that we stick to the budget.
